Bad Times at the El Royale is a 2018 Twentieth Century Fox. is scheduled to be released on November 23, 2018.
It has rained a lot since 'La Cabana en el Bosque' premiered and, thanks to word of mouth, it became an instant cult movie, playing with all the rules of horror cinema that we knew and turning them around in a masterly way . Drew Goddard came from the world of television, where he had scripted episodes of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' or 'Lost', but this would be his debut in directing. It was such a welcome that he became a scriptwriter for 'World War Z' and 'Mars', the odyssey of Matt Damon directed by Ridley Scott, as well as being the director of the next 'X-Force'.
So, thanks to that brief but intense curriculum, for his next film they have given him a sort of carte blanche to develop his new story. And a little carte blanche! The casting can not be more star-studded, with Jeff Bridges, Jon Hamm, Dakota Johnson or Chris Hemsworth, with whom he already worked on his debut, but also has Michael Giacchino on the soundtrack and with Seamus McGarvey, director of photography (twice nominated for the Oscar, for 'Atonement' and 'Anna Karenina') of 'The Avengers' (wink, wink), 'The Great Showman' or 'Nocturnal Animals' whose aesthetic reminds us a lot of this new film. The synopsis is the following:
'Seven strangers, each with a secret, meet at the El Royale Hotel, on Lake Tahoe, a ruinous site with a dark past. In the course of a fateful night, everyone will have a last chance of redemption before everything goes to hell '
